Quill Work with Petrina Arnold (Session 1 of 2)

Learn the fundamentals of porcupine quill embroidery, focusing on the traditional zig zag stitching technique used to attach dyed quills to leather. Gain an introduction to the materials, pattern planning, and stitching methods used in this form of quillwork. Students will leave with a foundational knowledge of the technique and a handmade leather tobacco pouch stitched with their own quillwork.

Spring Artist Showcase

The Spring Showcase will feature Buffy Riley, an essayist, RN, mother, and longtime Hayward resident, among other things; Fishlicker Improv, the Chequamegon Bay-based troupe bringing the magic and mayhem of improv to the area since 2019; and TrueGrass, a classic style Bluegrass band featuring Tom Draughan, Bruce Qualey, Jed Malischke, and Carol McDowall. Showcase performers are supported by the Park's house band, A Walk in the Park, led by troubadour Sonofmel (John Adler) on guitar, Randy Wydra on bass, and Michael Pilhofer on drums.
