North Country Trail Hike

As part of the annual Solon Springs Equinox Festival, the local chapter of the North Country Trail Association is offering a guided hike on the north side of Solon Springs. Hikers will follow part of the 4,800-mile North Country National Scenic Trail as it passes along tree-shaded streets and crosses a bridge over a unique fish ladder on Klinzing Creek. The full hike is five miles, with shorter distances available.

National Public Lands Day Paddle & Hike

Join the North Country Trail Association's Brule-St. Croix Chapter to celebrate North Country Trail Day and National Public Lands Day. Meet at 10 a.m. at Palmer's Landing for a canoe paddle on Upper St. Croix Lake. Canoes and equipment will be furnished free by the Canoes on Wheels program. A potluck lunch follows, then a history hike on the North Country National Scenic Trail, including parts of the Brule Bog Boardwalk and Historic Brule-St. Croix Portage.
