Learning About Breastfeeding

NWCSA WIC Program of Douglas County, Wisconsin has partnered with Superior YMCA to provide a breastfeeding class, free of charge, to local residents. Class participants will receive a light meal (bagels, spread, fruit, or soup) and an educational breastfeeding related item. Pregnant women, their partners and support persons, and currently breastfeeding women are encouraged to attend.

Marilyn Monroe Lookalike Contest

All the Marilyn Monroes of Duluth and beyond are invited to compete in a look-alike contest held during the Duluth Art Institute’s Annual Fundraiser Gala, at the Duluth Depot, at 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2. The Contest is free and open to all participants dressed in Marilyn attire. (Gala tickets, on sale for $100, include dinner and other activities. Marilyn contestants will be admitted for the contest only, without dinner.) The Grand prize is a night’s lodging at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel (a $379 value). Costumes will be judged by the audience for likeness to Marilyn Monroe in appearance and/or personality and performance.
