Students in Hillside Youth Theatre, a program of the Duluth Community School Collaborative, perform an original musical play production, Robin's Hood. The public is invited. 2 & 6 p.m. Thursday, July 26 and 2 & 7 pm Friday, July 27. The 6 p.m. performance on July 26 is a fundraiser with entertainment, appetizers and a silent auction to support the continuation of these programs.

The Music Man

There’s trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian! Con-man Harold Hill has made small town River City, Iowa his next mark. The community (full of big personalities) buys into his scheme of a boys’ band including instruments, uniforms, and lessons, none of which the Music Man intends to deliver. But librarian Marian Paroo is onto him.

Lizzie! A Rock Musical

Zeitgeist announces new Renegade Rock Musical, “LIZZIE!” A testament to Renegade’s mission of providing new and exciting experiences for artist and audience alike, this musical runs on pure female fire power. One of the most infamous stories in American mythology gets a punked-up and glitter-glam makeover in this new rock musical featuring four women fronting a six-piece all female band.

Northshore Philharmonic Orchestra

Enjoy an exciting evening of symphonic proportions at Movies-in-the-Park. The opener is Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. With a nod toward LeonardBernstein’s 100th birthday jubilee, the Orchestra plays a medley of tunes from West Side Story. Also featured will be Fiddler on the Roof, The Empire Strikes Back, and a world premiere stage presentation composed by Duluth’s own Ian Deterling, graduate of UW-Superior to accompany a 1920 German silent horror film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
