Fitgers 5K

Jumpstart spring training with the Fitger’s 5K Run & Walk. The USATF-certified, chip-timed 3.1-mile race travels along Superior Street starting and ending back at Fitger’s. All net proceeds from the Fitger’s 5K benefit the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF)!

Cost: Entry Fee: $35 adults; $15 youth ages 6-14 online before April 25. Late registration, if available: $40 adults; $15 youth ages 6-14. Non-refundable

SS Meteor Volunteer Work Weekend

For the last 14 years, many volunteers have made a significant difference in the way the SS Meteor looks today. The work weekend is spent repairing, cleaning and organizing the SS Meteor for the upcoming season. Join a hearty group of volunteers from around the Midwest for this yearly clean-up of the historic SS Meteor. Pre-registration is required. GLSPS website at www.glsps.org.

Ruby's Pantry

Ruby's Pantry Food Distribution is every fourth Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Fond Du Lac Community Church just off of Hwy 23 about 1/2 mile before the Mont Du Lac Ski Hill. For only a $20 donation you get an abundance of food. Volunteers are also needed each month to help unload the truck and to help distribute the food.

Paws for Love

Signature fundraising gala for the Humane Society of Douglas Co. features a gourmet dinner, silent, live and dessert auction and Wheelbarrow of Liquor raffle to raise funds for the homeless and stray animals at the Superior Animal Shelter (food, vaccinations, spay/neuter, medical care, etc.) RSVP by April 12. Seating is limited.
