Art Escape

From painters, jewelers, potters, and sculptors to woodworkers and performers, Bayfield’s high-quality art scene is worth celebrating. Join us for the second annual “Art Escape,” a nine-day celebration of “all things art” across Bayfield County and Madeline Island. Experience the arts through demonstrations, and open houses, and create your own masterpiece through a workshop.

Festival of the Arts

Join us for this juried arts & crafts show held in Memorial Park on the scenic shores of Lake Superior. A place of inspiration for many artists who live, work, play and visit Bayfield. Visitors will find a unique selection of pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpture, glass works, wood carvings, photography and more. There will also be opportunities for children to explore their creative side.

Artist reception: Cecilia Rolando

Ely’s Cecilia Rolando, illustrator, photographer and painter will be a guest artist as part of the Grand Marais’ Art Colony ‘s downtown Studio 21 Arrowhead Artist Exhibition Series from Sept. 4 to Oct. 5, with an artist reception on Saturday, Sept. 6, 4-5 pm, to which the public is invited. During the month of September, the gallery is open three days a week, Thursdays – Saturdays, 10 -5. The final week of the show, Sept. 28 – Oc. 5, Art Along the Lake week up the Shore, the gallery is open each day. Cecilia's numerous unique and varied recent work, in watercolor and acrylic, is driven equally by material as color and composition.
