Rally to Support the EPA

Duluth’s Great Lakes Toxicology and Environmental Division of the Environmental Protection Agency is under imminent threat of layoffs and closure. Their research into contaminants and impacts on communities has driven the clean up of the St. Louis River and the Great Lakes. Come support nearly 150 public employees committed to our lands and waters.

Beginning Bookbinding

Make a book from scratch! This class is completely hands-on: participants will build their own hard cover 96-page blank books using traditional methods and materials. The class is taught in a professional bookbinding shop that uses classical turn-of-the-century (that is, last-century) equipment. The class will be taught at The Tight Squeek Press's bookbinding studio at SOLCA

Matinee Musicale College Awards Recital

Each spring, twelve college music majors from The College of St. Scholastica, the University of Wisconsin Superior and the University of Minnesota Duluth receive an award from Matinee Musicale. The students are selected by their respective music departments and give a performance, free and open to the public.
