This workshop is for municipal foresters, planners, park managers, consulting arborists, nursery professional, landscape architects, and others interested in learning more about adapting urban green spaces to climate change. Space is limited and registration is required.

Glensheen's Not So Scary Pumpkin Hunt Event

From Wednesday, October 24th – Wednesday, October 31st there will be 20 PUMPKINS HIDDEN throughout the mansion for kids (or kids-at-heart) to find during the week of Halloween. Making a tour at Glensheen a perfect not-so-scary Halloween activity for families. There’s even a fun prize at the end so you can declare your pumpkin-hunt mastery! Boo M D Halloween party for kids

UMD Housing & Residence Life is hosting its first ever “Boo M D,” a Halloween extravaganza replacing UMD’s annual Haunted Halls this year, featuring games, activities, face painting and, of course, candy. Parking is available in Parking Lot E off of Kirby Drive near the Kathryn A. Martin Library. Organizers are accepting donations of gently used winter clothing for UMD students and the Damiano Center.

Lyric Opera of The North: Trouble in Tahiti & The Filthy Habit

Lyric Opera of the North’s 2018 - 2019 Season begins with an evening of two operas under two hours: Leonard Bernstein’s "Trouble in Tahiti" and Hilliard and Boresi’s "The Filthy Habit."

Fairlawn’s Superstition Tour

Tour the darkened house with flashlights and learn about the superstitious life of the Victorians. Tours will leave every half hour starting at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own flashlight. Not recommended for children 5 and under.
