Swenson’s "The Land of Everlasting Sky: A Memoir of Loss and Legacy on Lake of the Woods" begins with a return to her mother’s hometown of Warroad, Minn. As she investigates her family’s history, she also examines the history of reservation land and forms a friendship with a descendant of an Ojibwe family with deep ties to the area.
Yaeger, a Duluth writer, is the author of "Blooming Hollyhocks: Tales of Joy During Hard Times," about her mother’s childhood during the Great Depression and the WWII home front. The two authors will discuss writing about family members and the histories they uncover.
