The Lake Superior Freethinkers will host Patrick Elliot, senior counsel for the Freedom from Religion Foundation who will discuss the blockbuster cases before the US Supreme court and the resulting threat to church/state separation. He will also talk about other legal issues that FFRF is working on.

History comes to life with the traditional Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony on Sunday, June 5, as commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion crafts, kayaks, and rowboats parade through Bayfield’s City Harbor. The service begins at 1 pm in Memorial Park. From there, the clergy proceeds to the City Dock to begin the Blessing of the fleet.

Music by Eric Schubring begins at 3:30 p.m. Rothschild will speak at 4. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and chairs or a blanket. Children are welcome. This is a rain or shine event. The Pavilion is large and open-aired. Covid safety measures will be in place.
