The Corsair & the Story of Korean War Heroism

(Rescheduled from Feb. 21 due to weather)

The 1950s were a time of great racial division in America, but when Jesse Brown, the Navy's first black aviator, was shot down over North Korea, his wingman Tom Hudner did the unthinkable to save him and crashed his own plane into the same mountain.

The Bong Center welcomes EAA program director Chris Henry during Black History Month to share the true story of Ensign Jesse Brown and his wingman Thomas Hudner. Their story was recently depicted in the film ‘Devotion’ and their plane is on exhibit at EAA.
