Volunteer Day @ Piping Plover Habitat
During this volunteer day we will be managing woody debris from the shoreline, and burning it on site. Doing so, in turn provides an open and suitable foraging habitat for shorebirds. The larger pieces of debris will be managed with a chainsaw where needed. This will be a really fun, hands-on experience! Gloves, buckets, chainsaw and contracting bags will be provided. Please bring your own equipment/materials if you have them. If you have experience using a chainsaw and want to bring and use your own, please reach out to Mikayla via email. Participants are strongly encouraged to email Mikayla, at watertrail@stlouisriver.org if they are interested in helping with any volunteer date.
