Volunteer Day @ Piping Plover Habitat
Second event in the series, for Friday August 7th from 3:00-6:00pm. During this volunteer maintenance day, we will be handling unwanted vegetation within targeted areas on Wisconsin Point Bird Sanctuary. If the wind and weather cooperates, we will be managing the invasives by burning them on site. Participants are encouraged to email Mikayla, at watertrail@stlouisriver.org if they are interested in helping at one, both, or all three of these days so we have enough tools to go around. Gloves, buckets, shovels, and contracting bags will be provided. Please feel free bring your own equipment/materials if you have them. Come as long or as little as you'd like, and check out the site to learn more about how the 2026 season went! More hands, and more smiles make for easier work. Bring: water, sun hat, sunglasses, gardening or leather gloves, 5-gallon bucket (if you have any) kneeling pad, snack, sunscreen, bug spray, long socks, and protective clothing from bugs and vegetation with thorns, poison ivy, etc.
