It is our birthday, and we already know everything.
The Reader is celebrating our rather surprising
17th anniversary. Starting with little more than one good idea and $1000 in July of 1997, we somehow came up with a 36 page newspaper in twenty days flat, and distributed 8000 copies throughout Duluth and Superior.
Since that illustrious day, we have continued charging
(and stumbling) forward, always striving to educate,
irritate, and entertain you, our loyal reader.
With that in mind, we would like to invite you to share
in our good fortune. Please join us on Friday July 25th
at the Historic Wade Stadium in West Duluth.
Reader Readers can turn in the Secret Passcard you may
find on page 55 of this issue at the Reader tent for a pair of general admission tickets to that nights Duluth Huskies game. Game time is 6:30 pm, and we are also giving away plenty of swag including! A brand new Mad River Adventures canoe from our good friends at Spring Creek Outfitters, 30 pairs of tickets to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and lots of other booty we haven’t quite sorted out yet.
We would love to have you stop by and meet us. We will begin registering people for the giveaways starting at 5 pm.
Please join us, and check Duluth Reader.com
for more late breaking developments.
Thank you for your support.
