Duluth wasn't always the outdoor recreation mecca it is today - decades of industrial pollution made the St. Louis River virtually unusable and the Lake Superior shoreline in Canal Park was a dumping ground. Clean-up and restoration has been made possible through federal and state funding and the ongoing work of federal and state agencies collaborating with non-profit organizations and citizens. Hear from some of the people involved in transforming Duluth and what it took to shape it into the beautiful place we now enjoy.
