History in a Pint: Captain Robert Pratt and Appomattox
Jim Pratt of Duluth will tell the story of one of the least known but most pivotal moments of the Civil War, the Breakthrough at Petersburg. Jim’s great-grandfather, Robert Pratt, along with his CO Charles Gould, were instrumental in the breaking of the Siege of Petersburg and hastening the conclusion of the war 10 days later at Appomattox. Guests are advised to park in the ramp behind and connected to the Sheraton, across the street from Carmody’s. Sponsored by Veterans Memorial Hall.
