The Murder of Crows
The Murder of Crows consists of violinist Gaelynn Lea and the guitar work of Alan Sparhawk who is well known for his bands Low and Retribution Gospel Choir. The project has been playing fairly regularly in the area after their debut performance where they did a live soundtrack to a Lon Chaney film in October 2011 at Teatro Zuccone. Their sound is slow yet carries a hypnotic effect. This show at Amazing Grace is all ages, free and starts at 8 p.m.
A few days later, Monday, February 6, Amazing Grace will be holding their open mic which has reemerged after several years of non-existence. The open mic on Mondays will feature guest hosts as well as featured artists. This Monday will feature Canadian singer/songwriter Danielle French who is touring from Calgary, AB to Memphis, TN to perform several showcases at the annual Folk Alliance conference. There will be several slots open for those attending to get up and play themselves. This event is also free and will run from 7 through 8:30 p.m.
