This year, we will commemorate the sinking of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald with a virtual beacon lighting ceremony tomorrow, Nov 10. You can stream the event directly from our Facebook page.
No visitors will be allowed on site. If you would like to view the beacon in person, you will be able to view it from the shoreline of the Split Rock State Park.

Everyone can join the free week-long virtual Gales of November celebration. Nightly at 7 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday (Nov. 10-14), the association will host a presentation about maritime history and stories. While the presentations are free, we hope that visitors will consider donations or memberships to LSMMA.
