Cable-Hayward Area Art Crawl

The public is invited to take the Studio Art Tour through Barnes, Drummond, Cable, Hayward, Springbrook, and Stone Lake during the upcoming 8th Annual CHARAC (Cable Hayward Area Arts Council) Art Crawl. This event will take place Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signs will be posted along the roads directing visitors to studios.

History Theatre: Mrs. Jay Cooke

Meet Dorothea Elizabeth Allen Cooke, as portrayed by Rachael Martin, retired museum director, and longtime living history interpreter. The year is 1868 when Philadelphia banker Jay Cooke and his wife visited Superior to determine whether or not to invest in building a railroad. While Mr. Cooke attends to business, Mrs. Cooke is meeting with residents of the community to get acquainted and find out more about this newly developing community.

A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline

The Grand Marais Playhouse is proud to present A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline as part of the Grand Marais Summer Theater Festival running 18 July – 11 August, 2019. A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline provides an accurate re‐creation of the Patsy Cline sound. The songs are performed in their entirety with arrangements, back‐up vocals and a band structure all very similar to Patsy’s.
