Latte art is the method of preparing coffee by pouring steamed milk into espresso which results in a design most commonly seen as hearts or flowers. Practice pours will be from 5-6p and the competition will begin at 6p. Sign-ups will be on a walk-in basis. The competition will be judged by Almanac Coffee, Alakef Coffee and Duluth Coffee. Prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors along with bragging rights as the reigning latte art champion. The competition is free and open to the public, both as competitors and spectators. Top baristas in the state of Minnesota as well as neighboring Wisconsin and Canada will be invited to compete in the Latte Art Throwdown.
