The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) called on members of Congress to publicly rebuke U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) for racist and xenophobic remarks targeting Somali Americans.

Speaking at a Faith & Freedom Coalition event in Washington, D.C., Rep. Emmer claimed that Somali immigrants “don’t assimilate” and said those who do not assimilate “should go the hell back to where they came from.”

He also declared that he was “done being careful” about being called “a racist” or “an Islamophobe.” His remarks have been widely condemned by elected officials and civil rights advocates.

“Representative Emmer’s comments are beneath the dignity of his office and unworthy of a congressional leader,” said CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein. “Telling Somali Americans to ‘go back where they came from’ is a classic racist attack that has been directed at generations of immigrants and communities of color, echoing the same nativist rhetoric historically promoted by the Ku Klux Klan against immigrants. This rhetoric is both un-Minnesotan and un-American. Members of Congress should reject this hateful rhetoric and make clear that Somali Americans are valued members of our state and our nation.”

Hussein added that CAIR-MN is urging congressional leaders from both parties to condemn Emmer’s remarks and reaffirm that racism and anti-immigrant bigotry have no place in the United States Congress.

He said CAIR has repeatedly condemned hate rhetoric and actions by public officials targeting Somali Americans.

Washington, D.C., based CAIR’s latest civil rights report documented 8,683 anti-Muslim bias complaints in 2025 – the highest number ever recorded by the organization since it began publishing civil rights reports in 1996.

In case you’ve forgotten, here are a few more thoughts on the disgusting lump of tripe named Tom Emmer:

Remember autumn 2023 when Emmer won the Republican conference’s nomination as House speaker, until Trump got wind of it and declared Emmer to be “totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters” and a “Globalist RINO.”

This was after his creepy pal Laura Loomer labeled Emmer a “communist enabler” (in all caps, of course). Trump’s people believed Emm er to be too squishy for them.

Trump then got on the phone and made sure everyone knew how much he disliked Emmer’s squishiness. The next day Trump bragged, “He’s done. It’s over. I killed him.”

What did the cowardly Emmer do? He dropped out of the race, as Trump expected him to do.

But did he hold a grudge against the most reprehensible alleged human being ever to run for president three times?

No, he endorsed Trump in his 2024 run, to which the nation’s No. 1 creep responded, “They always bend the knee.”

Does it bother Emmer that he is Trump’s bitch? Not a bit. In fact, he seems to have gone full Trump himself with his latest racist diatribe.

Last fall, Big Dummy Emmer showed what a Trump lapdog he has become with this nitwit comment: “The Democrats, would rather cater to the pro-terrorist wing of their party than to reopen the government.”

The “pro-terrost wing of the party,” Emmer said, was about to hold a “hate America rally.”
Emmer was referring to a No Kings rally.

The big dummy just doesn’t get it, but let’s remind the dope why it was called a No Kings rally and who really hates America:

• His hero Trump sent the National Guard from his allied red states to American cities that have no want or use for them.

• His hero Trump has ordered masked federal agents to sweep up people without warrants. He’s violated their due process rights and in some cases sent them to repressive foreign lands known for human rights abuses.

• His hero Trump ordered career prosecutors to go after his political enemies, and to spare his political friends. He has fired career public servants who refused his unethical orders.

• His hero Trump pardoned the people who stormed the Capitol and assaulted police officers in their failed coup attempt.

• His hero Trump and his grifting family collected billions of dollars in foreign money while doling out favors.

Just for the record, let’s hear a few more nuggets from the idiot Emmer and wonder what it is voters saw in this weakling mental midget.

“I don’t think you can call yourself a freedom-loving American and be a Democrat.”

“That girls aren’t really girls, and boys aren’t really boys, and that it’s OK to do whatever in God’s name you want to do. It ain’t OK. There is right and wrong. There is moral and immoral. All you gotta do is go to the greatest book ever and read it, and it’ll tell ya how other people that came long before us made the same mistakes.”

“it is time to evangelize on a political level. We should be fighting for this country every single day.”

Emmer’s 6th District reelection bid is being challenged by fellow Republicans Mike Foley and Chris Corey, all of whom are hoping to secure the GOP nomination in the Aug. 11 primary. Since Republicans seem to hate America, here’s hoping Democratic challenger Doug Chapin beats them all.
Because it is time for Tom Emmer to leave public office and crawl back under his filthy rock.
