Comparing Christ’s last supper with Trump’s first brunch
I see Trump is still asking Treasury to put his face on a $250 bill. I think he would get more attention if he had his “beautiful” face on a red-tinged $250,000 bill on one side and a picture of his orange-tinged bare butt on the back so his fans and fellow billionaires could kiss it when the bill is exchanged.

And, by the way, what has happened to my previous suggestion that his bare buttocks be carved into granite on Mount Rushmore so Trumplicans could crawl up and kiss it on Jan. 6 celebrations?

As I watch what Trump does each day, it reminds me of when I spent part of a college summer working with fellow MSTC football player Harvey Stewart of Pelican Rapids selling foot-long hotdogs and ice cream bars on the midways and carnivals of county and state fairs in the region.

We worked for a Fergus Falls concessions company, driving a truck equipped with freezers, stove and bed from one fair to another.

On the midway would be Ferris wheels, loop-de-loops, merry-go-rounds, and other interesting rides and shows of nearly naked ladies, fat hairy men with long beards, old lions bored with life, games that took throwing and catching skills, card games, and many ladies with scarves reading crystal balls for customers curious about their future.

Trump press conferences, cabinet meetings, and Musk’s X  are consumed by love and hate stories, each one preceded and followed by lies.

In cabinet meetings we have his incredible shrinking directors and secretaries professing love for him and kissing his butt like carnival barkers on the midway telling lies while luring the innocent into seeing shocking things. 

Press conferences are like listening to the screams coming off the tilt-wheel. At the same time, I learned that weird carnival people off the midway were just like us.

Fact: Conservative Trumplicans are dying younger than liberals
Researchers at Nature Human Behavior based at the University of North Carolina have records of the rate of deaths of liberals and conservatives since 2010 and have determined that conservatives without college degrees who move to the far-right die much younger at a higher rate than liberals with a college degree who move further to the left.

The followers of Robert Kennedy, Jr lead all economic levels in early deaths.

For a variety of reasons, education levels are a strong predictor of health. Surveys reveal that people on the right are less likely to trust, engage or use medicines to treat chronic illness relative to the left. They also fail to vaccinate to control well-known diseases and current pandemics.

Researchers discovered that people who believe RFK Jr, use “mental gymnastics” to resist vaccinations because they don’t want unknown chemicals in their bodies.

Director Neil O’Brian of the research team has a deadly paragraph in the findings: “Folks on the right have more hypertension {or high blood pressure} than the folks on the Left, and now people on the Right are less likely to go to their doctor, less likely to trust their doctor, less likely to think medicines to treat hypertension are safe and effective. Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S., and if lots of people walk around with untreated hypertension, that’s really bad for the individual and for public health. They are also likely to suffer more from long Covid because they haven’t been vaccinated.”

They are also less likely to discover they suffer from that disease.

American Dream has turned into a catatonic nightmare for Gen Z

One often wonders whether Americans will react like Germans who lived in one of the most cultured societies in human history in the early part of the 20th century in terms of its engagement with philosophy, literature, art and music—and yet had educated military officers and soldiers from “good” families commit horrible atrocities such as shooting Jewish babies and their naked parents standing by a pit already filled with the dead and dying.

It is happening again in several countries in our world today. We might be on the same road with no forks.

American college graduates send out hundreds of resumes seeking employment and don’t get a single response. Young people are currently facing the worst entry-level job market in a decade because of significant economic instability and the COVID pandemic.

Today, eight in 10 Gen Z (18-34) rate the economy as “bad” or “terrible” according to a survey by the U.S. by Generation Lab. Forty-one percent blame the Lyin’ king and 31 percent blame corporate greed and large monopolies.

Many young people live in a perpetual panic because the signs are we are losing what is left of our democracy. About half of our adult population lives paycheck-to-paycheck and tens of millions live in substandard housing, more than five million are homeless although the federal one-day count is close to 800,000, healthcare is inaccessible, credit card and car debt is at record highs, police are short-handed, and billionaires and oligarchs run the government.

I’m a news junkie-always have been. I read six newspapers every day, listen to network national news, special coverages, and watch CNN and MSNNOW. I check Fox Lies almost every day.

I was shocked last week when I learned from a magazine that Florida orange juice actually comes from China and that orange juice production in Florida has declined 95%.

Along with its orange juice, China has sent a flea-sized bug with it that has destroyed almost all of the orange trees in the state. Check on it. Is it true?

Bernie Sanders is right about taxes and student debt
Bernie says we should dramatically increase taxes on the wealthy and use   it to pay off all student debt. The economy needs a healthy boost now and doing this would allow student debtors to rent apartments, buy cars or even buy houses.

A few debtors are in their 90s!

Currently, 43 million Americans owe $1.7 trillion in student debt, less than 40% of borrowers are in active repayment plans, and nearly 25% are in default.

Actually, it’s all the states which are in default because, according to the U.S. Constitution, states are responsible for educating its public.

Practically all industrialized European countries offer free college programs.

America’s 900 billionaires who own Congress and most of the Fortune 500 companies have dodged and cheated on taxes for decades.

Here’s a list of corporation defaulters and taxes they should have really paid in 2025:

• Abbot Laboratories-$336 m

• Walmart, Uber, Mastercard, Pepsi, Crocs, Merck, Honeywell and Cigna-each estimated at $40 m

• Honeywell Swiss-$301 m

• S&P Global-$269 m

• Yumi Brands-$121 m

• Crocs of Malta-$47 m

• Pepsi units in Bermuda, Switzerland, Ireland and Singapore-$691 m.

These are just a few samples of the thousands of companies and corporations that evaded taxes in the Divided States of America by using hundreds of tax havens around the world — and in this country.
We rank 32nd in tax rates out of the 38 industrialized countries that belong to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

We now have our “never enough” billionaires fighting over the trillions they want to make on Artificial Intelligence data centers replacing cash-devouring humans.

They are battling all over the country about building huge electric and water-devouring installations covering thousands of acres of food-producing land.

Senator Sanders, who probably knows more about empire-building than anyone else in the Divided States of America, is a democratic-socialist-capitalist. He believes an empire does not need billionaires, that a person who limits himself and family to $999,000,000 is OK if they serve the “common good.”

The DSA can learn a lot from the five countries that lead the UN Happiness Survey.

Meanwhile, Sanders is introducing legislation that would establish a sovereign wealth fund to ensure all citizens would benefit financially from the technology of AI. His law would impose a 50% one-time tax on the wealth of all AI firms.

Sovereign wealth funds are not a new creation. Our oldest son became a resident of Alaska and got a “wealth fund” check each year for his share.

Bernie explains the principles behind sovereign wealth funds (Norway also has one that covers North Sea oil): The principle is simple. When a public resource generates wealth, the public should share in the wealth.

AI is being built on a public resource far more valuable than oil: the accumulated knowledge, creativity and labor of mankind.

The future of AI and the fate of humanity must not be decided behind closed doors in Silicon Valley. It must be people. It’s our future. We must decide it. Corporations are already using AI to cut jobs. Amazon, Walmart, United Health Group, JPMorgan Chase and other companies are telling investors that AI will allow them to slash payrolls — even as they post tens of billions in profits and reward CEOs with pay packages of $25million, or $35 million or more.”

Will the climate change ‘hoax’  and ‘biggest con job’  bring heat?
The sexual predator, jerk, prick, asshole, malignant narcissist, socio-psychopath and war criminal Know Nothing nutcase in our White House has already cut more than 220,000 federal workers who protect us and make life better for all, many of them involved in tracking and changing the climate.

As an example, the U.S. agency for International Development was funding many climate change programs overseas when its 4,845 employees were cut to 378, the Institute of sciences was reduced from 191 to 25, the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality went from 297 to 108.

The Trump administration just announced it was cutting a $368 million deep-ocean observation system which has been warning us about changes in temperature, ocean currents and environments.

The National Science Foundation has placed more than 900 deep-sea instruments anchored off Oregon, Washington State, Alaska, North Carolina and an area near Greenland and Iceland known as the Irminger Sea, where devices measuring changes in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Current are moored 9,200 feet below the surface. One station is anchored 620 miles offshore in the Gulf of Alaska.

International study groups can also read the devices. Scientists measure greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and temperature changes in the ocean. Changes here would have severe weather effects.
This system began operating around the world in 2016 and was expected to continue operation for 25 years to 2041. It costs about $48 million annually to operate the system. Removing all of the instruments will take about 15 months. Many scientists say many areas of the earth by that time may not be habitable, particularly the entire Tropical Zone. Washington D.C. may not be livable by that time.

Corky and I lived in D.C. in 1955 while I was going through Marine Corps Officer’s Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia. It was pretty hot and muggy then. Now it has added about 2.5F to the temp. This was an increase measured by an observation station off Cape Hatteras, N.C. and barrier islands where we also lived.
