Uncovering Wisconsin’s WWII POW Camps
Saturday, Sept. 27, 1 pm
Bong Historical Center
During World War II, 39 prisoner-of-war camps in Wisconsin housed captured German soldiers. After the war, the prisoners went home and the camps were mostly forgotten. In 2023, the logbook of Fort McCoy’s POW camp commander was recovered. This presentation will highlight key discoveries.

Opener for the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-2026 season and Erin Aldridge’s 20th season as concertmaster, featuring Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s 1888 symphonic suite based on
Arabian Nights. Piano soloist Adam Golka completes the program.
Cider Press for Peace

Grandmothers for Peace and Vets for Peace sponsor an outdoor family event to commemorate the International Day of Peace. Bring a container and some apples, if possible, and there will be a cider press and activity for children.
