Thanks for the Level 3 chargers!

I would like to express my appreciation for the electric vehicle chargers at the Ashland Kwik Trip on the corner of Sanborn Avenue and Highway 13.
I, like most people with electric vehicles (EVs), charge my car at home most of the time, so you may not see many of us local folks there a lot. On the other hand, these chargers are so fast and convenient that I’ve started to use them. What might take a couple hours at home takes 10 minutes there (Kwik Trip has Level 3 chargers vs. my Level 2 home charger).

When I’ve taken trips to Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Michigan, I really appreciated finding fast chargers. Likewise, I am sure travelers coming to or through Ashland are equally grateful for these. To find them somewhere with clean restrooms and food, open 24 hours a day, feels really lucky!
You might say we need more people with EVs before we can invest in more chargers, yet the reverse is also true, that we need more reliable fast chargers or people won’t get EVs. People who want to try an EV will do so when other gas stations/convenience stores like Kwik Trip have some fast chargers as well as gas pumps. (There are still tax credits available for buying or leasing an EV before September 30th.)

You may never see or talk to the traveler that gets a needed EV charge late some dark night at the Ashland Kwik Trip, but I am sure it happens, and they’ll remember Ashland for it.

We still have time

Serial child rapist Jeffery Epstein’s long-term best friend does not want to lead Americans, he wants to rule Americans. He does not want to be the president of a constitutional republic, he wants to be the dictator of a police state, and he is well on his way. Our Gelded Age Republicans are fine with that, minority rule being their goal all along. But tRump’s dictatorship has not been consolidated. Even as he accrues more power, he is showing more and more signs of dementia. His cabinet is filled with half-wits. And his destruction of our country is not proving popular, save for that minority of Americans mesmerized by “the blunt instrument of his reassuring ignorance.” Citizens of countries that have suffered the collapse of democracy and the rise of autocracy look back at the time when they still lived in an open society, and wished they had done more to thwart the advancing dictatorship when they still had the freedom to do so. We still have the time and the freedom to turn this around, but this opening will not last long if we don’t stand up and resist in every non-violent way possible. Kidnappings by masked men must never be normalized. Troops walking our streets must never be normalized. And tRump’s dictatorial madness must never be normalized. Fascism has arrived, but it has not yet been consolidated. It’s up to all of us to make sure that never happens.

Some of the things Democrats need to remember

While Trump was lying about the 2020 elections, he continued to play the poor persecuted me card. But, is it really true that he circulated many myths and left wing conspiracies just to discredit Dems?
i.e. Trump has been hostile to the press and to democrats, even though during his first term, he wasted no time raising a stink about press reports that his inaugural crowd was not the largest in American history!—even though aerial photographs proved it was not! We also need to consider that no other President has ever complained about such a politically trivial statistic. So concerning Trump’s lies—Trump responds to criticism by creating false facts and conspiracies. Most Presidents are just happy that they won without needing to defend their own personal greatness by disputing simple proven facts. But so what! Is it always recess at the white House where ideologically bound bullies in the sand box, beat up anyone who offends them?

From the beginning, Trump has raged each time his supposed greatness was questioned, and he still refers to Hillary Clinton and Obama as enemies who treated him wrongly by making simple corrections of his “facts. However, the morning after the 2020 election Hillary graciously admitted her defeat, and called on her supporters to (help the new President succeed) in making our democracy better. How unfair was that?--answer, not at all!-- except for self-aggrandizing autocrats who often feel the need to portray themselves as the greatest POTUS that ever lived, as their minions obfuscate the facts and downright lie about them

Although our intelligence agencies were naturally suspicious about his meetings with Russian diplomats and the plutocrats who associated with Putin, could it be that Trump actually raised suspicions, by addressing a nationwide TV audience and saying he had heard that there was soon going to be another dump of Clinton’s damning emails from Russia, and that he (Donald Trump) would announce its arrival on National Television as he thanked Russia? Thus, how could anyone (not) suspect that some kind of international scheme involving Russia was in motion after Hilary was gleefully slandered by Trump, who often issued unproved claims about Clinton and her treasonous left wing cohorts instead?

Consider also that Comey told Trump he was not being personally investigated, long after Clinton had already been subjected to several marathon congressional hearings used to investigate her, hearings that discovered no legally damning evidence of any insidious emails used by Hillary, and how James Comey also told Trump that his responsibility was to uphold the US Constitution, not to pledge his loyalty to any President!

Here’s a great article from NPR, that reveals some methods to Trump’s madness—like the fact that he encouraged Republicans to keep chanting “Biden is ruining everything,” Instead of actually looking at FactCheck.org and PolitiFact I.e.--which documented all the great accomplishments Biden made possible.

The Pandemic happened in part, because those working at supply chains were not required to wear masks or get vaccinated, while being told that computer chips were lurking in vaccines? Funny though, if Trump knew that was BS, why didn’t he bother to say so? Instead Covid (began) to increase rapidly during Trump’s administration and remained high during Biden’s. So it only makes sense that now, after Trump pardoned thousands of Jan 6th traitors, and helped them create other conspiracy theories to blame Democrats with!

So, maybe Republicans wants to prosecute Obama for Treason using a series of “possibilities” that no real evidence supports?—that way Trump can deflect from his own BS, make Obama the villain, and himself into our fearless Autocratic savior!!
