Stranger in the Woods

Movie based on the award-winning children’s book in which two snowdrifts, Pierre and Janine, introduce us to their forest friends and reminisce about a mysterious stranger who once visited. Free showing followed by refreshments and a ranger program.

Christmas Bird Count

Lake Superior Estuarium
Birders across the Twin Ports area, novice and experienced, are invited to participate in the Superior Circle of the National Audubon Society’s annual Christmas Bird Count. The count runs from dawn ‘til dusk with participants signing in and out as needed. To register, email outreach@folsr.org.

Tin Can Gin was born and brewed upon the shores of Lake Superior near Duluth by childhood pals Harrison Olk and Trevor Marrin, eventually joined by mandolinist Bryan Nelson, fiddle virtuoso Nori Schwenzfeier and Neil Krause on stand-up bass.

One of the last great parties of 2024, the Owls Club Big Band performs the music of the Charles Mingus while Vikre serves its rendition of his famed eggnog recipe. Come forth and partake, sway and revel in this wondrous day.
