UMD Opera Studio performs this 1946 American work, based on the 1929 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, with lyrics by Langston Hughes. The story takes place outside a New York City tenement as ordinary gossip, squabbles and romance build to epic drama.

Native American Heritage Day

In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, a panel discussion will delve into the ideas of citizenship and its meaning for Indigenous community. Free frybread taco lunch provided along with museum galleries and craft activities for all ages.
