Dragons Love Tacos Feb. 16-18 & 21-24 UMD Marshall Performing Arts Adaptation of the popular children’s book explains how to attract giant reptiles to a party and what makes them breathe fire. The play is 45 minutes long and the lobby will open 45 minutes prior to showtime to allow kids and families to engage in creative projects.

Book Across the Bay/Bike Across the Bay Feb. 17 & 18 Ashland Up to 4,000 skiers take a candlelit evening trek across Chequamegon Bay, though if ice conditions are unfavorable, the trail will go along the shore. Saturday events include the annual kite festival, Winterfest and Champagne Glitter Train. Bike races are Sunday.

Duluth Comedy Festival Fri. & Sat., Feb. 16 & 17, 9 p.m. Norshor Theatre Friday night has Drew Lynch, “America’s Got Talent” finalist with millions of followers on social media. Saturday is a homecoming for Duluth native Maria Bamford, known for her standup and Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite. With a special guest (to be determined) on Friday and Jackie Kashian on Saturday.

Fire & Ice Saturday, Feb. 17, 7:30 p.m. Mitchell Auditorium The College of St. Scholastica Concert Band, Jazz Band, Steel Band and Handbell Ensemble present a midwinter concert to help shake off winter’s chill. The Concert Band will feature works by Gillingham, Holst, Marquez and Ellisor.

Sweet Bird Sunday, Feb. 18, 3 p.m. Pilgrim Congregational Church, Duluth Borealis Chamber Artists present a concert highlighting George Frideric Handel's aria “Sweet Bird,” based on John Milton’s poetry, and Johann Sebastian Bach's “Sonata No. 4.” 

Duluth Area & The Cold War Thursday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. Duluth Depot “History in a Pint” with Brig. Gen. Raymond Klosowski USAF (Ret.) of Duluth speaking about area military operations during the Cold War with the Soviet Union. The St. Louis County Historical Society will display its latest traveling exhibit on the same subject with a full-scale model of a Genie nuclear missile. Social hour at 6 p.m. followed by the presentation at 7.
