Great Northern Squash Fest Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 14-16 Chaffey, Wis. Music and camping with over 30 musical acts and live artists showcasing their original work. Family friendly camping as well as a kids tent and activities. Food and art vendors will be on site throughout the weekend.   

Young Frankenstein Sept. 15-Oct. 1 Norshor Theatre Musical stage adaptation of Mel Brook’s 1974 comedy. Will it retain all the gags about dodging blown kisses, rolls in ze hay, knockers, schwanstuckers, sedagives, Abby Normal, seven or eight quick ones and sweet mystery of life?  

In the Mad Moonlight Friday, Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m. St. Scholastica Mitchell Auditorium The late great Duluth poet Louis Jenkins (1942-2019) gets his due with this memorial project in which 14 Minnesota composers set poems from his last published collection to music, performed by Clara Osowski and Jessica Schroeder.  

Chester Bowl Fall Fest Saturday, Sept. 16, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Music, locally grown fresh produce, activities for children and families, 130 vendors selling arts, crafts and food. Parking is limited near the event, so walking, biking or using the free shuttles from UMD is recommended.   

Search / Topaz 50th Anniversary Reunion Show Saturday, Sept. 16, 8 p.m. Mr. D’s A rock band with horns, Search formed in 1973 with seven guys from Duluth Central High, covering tunes by Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Boz Scaggs and more. Topaz later formed with former members from Search.  

Ponyfolk, Sprig of That Tuesday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m. Wussow’s Sprig of That is a tabla, fiddle and guitar trio playing a hearty Midwest-raised and globally inspired acoustic stew. Ponyfolk has been described as “the dark side of Simon & Garfunkel” and “early Pink Floyd mixed with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.”  

Miscast Sept. 21-23, 8 p.m. UMD Dudley Experimental Theatre Stage 2 presents a miscast cabaret, written by University of Minnesota Duluth students, where the right performers perform the wrong songs.
