Let’s Study The Difference Between Monosexual And Plurisexual

Ed Raymond

If we are interested at all in the science of genetics we are running into the terms “gender identity” and “gender fluidity” more and more. The difference between criminal and civil law becomes important. If a judge or jury finds a defendant guilty, that generally means there is “no doubt.” But in civil litigation there may be some doubt, but the person can be determined guilty by “a preponderance of evidence.” There is now a  preponderance of evidence that a significant number of our fellow humans have sexual identities and fluidity listed under LGBTQIAP. That’s the acronym for “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Pansexual.”

The Bible says God created Man and Wo-man and told them to multiply. According to early prophets God created Man first and later determined Man needed a Wo-man as a companion. Female theologians today question whether Man was born first. They say male writers of the Bible text have God create Man first so he can rule over Wo-man. As one feminist said: “If God is male, then the male is God.” I dare to ask the question: What if God is actually “intersex” and has both male and female genitalia? Is that why He-She created both—and possibly at the same time? About one in 2,000 babies are born intersex.

Ever Heard Of A Sexy Strawberry Or an Intersex Cardinal Bird?

The other night I listened to an interview of a 50-year-old man who had had sexual problems all of his life, including pains in the groin from testicle malformations. He had  served in the Navy fo five years, enduring taunts from fellow seamen about his size and sexual habits. After his service time he married a woman but the marriage didn’t last. At age 50 his parents finally told him he had been an intersex baby, and they had told the doctors to remove the female genitalia and turn him into all male. About 2% of the population has intersex characteristics. He had had doubts about his masculinity for most of his life.

InterACT is a nonprofit trying to expand the rights for intersex youths that are born with types of intersex characteristics such as an enlarged clitoris or a misplaced urine opening on the penis to genitalia that don’t clearly match one gender. It is trying to pass a California bill that would bar doctors from treating or performing surgery on children with genitals that don’t fit a single gender, or are otherwise untypical unless it’s medically necessary, “or the child consents.”

Researchers have determined that strawberries have male or female characteristics. Another sex phenomenon known as bilateral gynandromorph (half male and half female) occurs in birds, reptiles, butterflies, and crustaceans. Jeffrey and Shirley Caldweld of Erie, Pa. have a cardinal on their bird feeder that is male on one side and female on the other—bright scarlet plumage on one side and dull taupe on the other. Each side of the bird is sister or brother of the other! As with all humans and nature, “stuff happens.” Remember, the Norwegians tried to find a prominent species that did not have homosexuals—and gave up the research after studying the top 1,500 species.

A Review Of Sexual Orientations

I have been filing info on sexual orientation and other matters of sex for about 30 years. My introductory title “Asexual to Zygotes” refers to that file.
I’m going to use recent articles containing overviews of sexual orientations as the basis for describing a person’s sexual, emotional, or romantic attraction as well as the gender of the people they are attracted to. The following models reveal that sexuality lies on a continuum, and that it can flow and change during a person’s life. However we must be careful, because it does not mean that sexual orientation is a “choice” or “preference” as it cannot be altered at will. Sexual identity is inborn. There are two types or categories of sexual orientations: Monosexuals (people attracted to a single gender) such as heterosexuals and homosexuals, and plurisexuals (people  attracted to multiple genders) such as pansexual, queer, lesbians, and other identities. Let’s identify a few gender identities in the present spectrum of human sexuality:

Asexuality—An asexual does not experience sexual attraction or has little or no desire to engage in sexual activity. This is not having a sexual dysfunction or a choice of celibacy. Asexuals do not desire any kind of sex. Asexuals may enjoy a romantic relationship. About 1% of the population is asexual.

Androsexualty/Androphilia—This area is defined as an attraction for males and masculinity, and can be felt by members of multiple sexual categories. As an example, heterosexual women and gay men are sexually interested in males only.
Aromanticism—Aromantics do not feel any kind of sexual desire. Aromatic asexuals are not at all interested in either romantic or sexual relationships with others. Bachelors? Old maids? It is possible that people do not desire sex just because the rest of the population enjoys participation in the act.

Bisexuality—Bisexuals are attracted to their own gender and to some others, but particularly to both men and women. According to studies of bisexual behavior among gay men, many men do not use bisexuality as a way of slowly coming out and adjusting to a gay identity. Bisexual men continue to experience sexual, romantic, and emotional attraction to women throughout their lives. Bisexuals often absorb more criticism from both heterosexual and homosexual communities and sometimes are rejected by both communities. Research shows that bisexuals have increased levels of sexual “curiosity” and sensation-seeking, and that monogamous partnerships are difficult or impossible due to the promiscuous and hypersexual nature of bisexual individuals.

Demisexuality—Humans sometimes do not feel any sexual attraction for others but they have an emotional bond and may remain close friends for many years. They may eventually have a sexual attraction but they often find it very distressing to even discuss sexual topics with their close friends.
Gynesexuality/Gynephilia—These humans are attracted to women and/or femininity. As an example, heterosexual men and lesbian women are gynephillic because they are attracted to women.
Heterosexuality—This is a term used to describe a person who is physically, emotionally, and/or romantically attracted to individuals of a gender other than their own. Often called “straight,” they often do not realize they are privileged to express affection publicly, and may kiss, hug, or hold hands without the fear of ridicule or hostile behavior. Presently they can marry when and where they wish without facing “moral opposition,” practice any religion, and apply for jobs without fearing being fired on the basis of their sexual orientation.

Homosexuality—This is a term used to identify persons who are physically, romantically, and/or emotionally attracted to individuals of the same gender with which they identify. Men who love men are called “gay”; women who love women are called “lesbians.” They are often the object of ignorance, intolerance, and insensitivity from the majority—and from major religions that base their teachings on 7th and 12th Century “revelations.”

Pansexuality (or omnisexuality)---Simply put, pansexuals are attracted to other humans regardless of sex or gender. Being pansexual does not mean that a person is attracted to anyone and anything—only that they do not prefer any one gender to another.
Queer—Queer-identified individuals are like pansexuals. They believe that there are more than just two genders, and many queers find themselves attracted sexually, romantically, and/or emotionally to people regardless of gender identification.
Please consider this is just a short list of an ever-expanding spectrum of gender identities. I haven’t even gotten to cisgenders and transgenders. This concluding statement in one of the overviews is very important to humanity: “While all sexual identities are quite different from one another, it is important to recognize the validity and uniqueness of all sexual orientations, and to never ridicule or belittle another person for their feelings. Sexual orientation cannot intentionally be altered, and thus the attraction one feels for another cannot be changed to fit a culture. The presence of many unique sexual orientations does not imply abnormality or ‘sexual deviance’—rather, it simply adds to human diversity.”

Einstein: “More People Are Driven Insane Through Religious Hysteria Than By Drinking Alcohol”

There is a great deal of religious hysteria going on today in the major religions about gender identity and fluidity. A picture of the Vatican conference on sexual abuse called by Pope Francis featured the red skull caps, the white hair, and the black cassocks of old men. The one outstanding detail? Not a single representative of half the human race was in the room adding to the discussion and resolution of sexual problems. No wonder the red-capped Neanderthal knuckle-draggers were mired in their ignorance, hypocrisy, and their centuries of calamitous celibacy. If half the Biblical gospels had been written by wo-men, perhaps the Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, Evangelical Christians, Falwells, Grahams, Muslims, and others claiming a God would not have their Fruit of the Looms in such genital-binding twists.

The Reverend Pat Robertson, who once ran for president and is a minister of cashmere cloth, is a splendid example of the ignorant and hypocritical representatives of the wingnut Christian right: “The incredible thing about the homosexuals is they are willing to destroy lives and destroy the whole fabric of society so long as they and their weird way of doing sex is legitimized. That’s what they want and they will take away everything, they will destroy marriage, they will destroy families, they will destroy, in this case, the foster children. They are willing to tear down the entire edifice in order to have the majority of people recognize the way they do sex.” Someone should tell Pat that perhaps an intersex God approves the birth of all gender identities in the womb because they are in His-Her image.

Religious “Authorities” Need To Go Back To School

• The World Health Organization has finally joined the American Psychiatric Association in no longer classifying transgender and “gender incongruence” as mental health disorders.

• Caster Semenya, the Olympic world champion of the women’s 800 meters, is still fighting for the right to run all over the world. She has been classified as a Differences of Sexual Development (DSD) athlete. She was born with male testes that produce high levels of testosterone which helps her physically in competition. She has been unbeatable since 2015 and still has to sue sponsors to gain the right to run. She was born female, reared and socialized as a woman, and now has been legally recognized as a woman.

• Whether the Vatican recovers from the thousands of sexual abuse cases seems to be problematical, but Roman Catholic mass goers have approved of same-sex marriage, the use of contraceptives, abortion in some cases, and no longer believe that homosexuals are “objectively disordered” or “intrinsically evil”--and ruled by Satan. The Vatican says only heterosexual men and women fit “natural law.” The science of genetics refutes this “law.” It is “unnatural.” Progress is a very important product.

• The more science learns about sex, the more we find anomalies,” according to Dr. Alice Dreger, a sexual historian. She adds: “Nature’s dealing with conformity…in brutal ways and loving ways. It doesn’t follow the human fantasy of everybody having to be normal. And humans don’t follow that ridiculous idea either.” Gender is not determined by what is between your legs. It is determined by X and Y chromosomes, hormones, other factors - and the brain.

• Popes and cardinals, waiters and CEOs, and rich men and poor women need to remember we were all equal zygotes at the beginning—a female egg fertilized by male sperm.
