I should have proofed before I sent the above post. The second sentence should read. "It is redundant to have both."

actually the word and takes the place of the comma in "red, white and blue. It is redundant to have both and proper to do both. You can say red and white and blue and forget the commas as well. Perhaps in legalese this may be the case, but i I doubt if a case has been decided by a comma as described in your article. In short, the and takes the place of a comma (,). If you said red blue, that denotes a blend of the two colors.

Good article Forrest. Have you noticed how grocery stores are buying more and more of fresh foods in the unripened state. This is nothing new (green bananas), but I noticed plums, pears and peaches are being picked at an earlier state of ripeness. I bought a couple peaches a few days ago and they were harder than apples. Also, it's been recently revealed that Arizona Green Tea has NO Detectable ginseng in it at all https://www.sacbee.com/news/nation-world/national/article229900564.html. I've been fooled for 25 years!
