Free Quilting Class

Learn from an expert how to create beautiful quilt patterns. Sewing machines are provided. Fabric, batting and backing fabric are free. Quilts will be donated to people with low incomes. Everyone welcome! Heading south on Grand Avenue a couple blocks past Spirit Mountain, you’ll see the A-frame church building on the left. Or call 218-727-8940 for free rides!

The River Talks

River Talks: Wild Rice in the Estuary. River Talks is an annual free, informal speaker series about the St. Louis River Estuary in Duluth-Superior and a cooperative project between the Wisconsin and Minnesota Sea Grant programs and the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve.

"State School Kid," a documentary by Toby Churchill

“State School Kid” chronicles the life of Don Sundeen. Don is an acclaimed artist that grew up in an institutional setting. His experience was documented in a series of paintings, which along with short stories created a published book. “State School Kid” follows Don as he travels back to Owatonna, touring the place he grew up.
