River Rovers Nature Play Group

The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve offers the River Rovers Nature Playgroup for children ages 3-7 starting Thursday, June 20 and running every Thursday through August 29. Parents or guardians should be in attendance with their children for the duration of the program. No registration is necessary. Attendance is free and snacks are provided.

Rise Above Seizures Walk

The Rise Above Seizures Walk celebrates people with seizures and raises awareness and funds to support services for the many people EFMN serves annually. Arrive any time after 5:00 to enjoy food, a raffle, a DJ, kids games, face painting, and opportunity to connect with others who are walking in support of those impacted by epilepsy. A two-mile walk begins at 6:30 p.m. The walk is optional.

Lumberjack World Championships

The Lumberjack World Championships showcase over 21 events competing for world records in events ranging from men's and women's logrolling, to chopping, to the exciting pole climb. Over 100 competitors' vie for more than $50,000 in prize money, making this one of the largest payback for lumberjack competition in the world.

A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline

The Grand Marais Playhouse is proud to present A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline as part of the Grand Marais Summer Theater Festival running 18 July – 11 August, 2019. A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline provides an accurate re‐creation of the Patsy Cline sound. The songs are performed in their entirety with arrangements, back‐up vocals and a band structure all very similar to Patsy’s.

UWS professor Aldridge returns as a soloist on the LSCO stage, where she has presented standing ovation performances.
