Learn to Curl

Learn to curl with certified instructors at the Duluth Curling Club - home of the 2018 Olympic gold medalists! The Club will provide the necessary equipment, all you need is a medium weight sweater or light jacket and a pair of very clean shoes (we keep our ice spotless, no street shoes, please). Online registration required.

Celebration of Maryanne Norton

Maryanne Norton was an invaluable researcher who aided many Duluth Preservation Alliance members with research. Because of Maryanne, we know much more about the cultural and architectural history of Duluth. Join John and Ann Norton and Tony Dierckins and the preservation community for a celebration of Maryanne's life. There will be a hors d'oeuvres and open bar.

Minnesota 1918 Fire Centennial

On the centennial of the 1918 Cloquet-Moose Lake fires, we are thrilled to host Curt Brown, author of Minnesota, 1918 - When Flu, Fire, and War Ravaged the State. This is a story of trauma, tragedy, and perseverance in a year that proved to be a turning point in the making of modern America.

The Flint Water Crisis

Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha will give a presentation at UMD on the water crisis in Flint, Mich., followed by a Q&A session. Dr. Hanna-Attisha is a pediatrician and the author of What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City. Over 200 free copies of the speaker’s book will be available at the event.
