Cause for the Paws

It’s time for the Humane Society of Douglas County’s 20th annual “Cause for the Paws” walk/run on Saturday, September 8 with or without your dog. The walk/run will be held on the Osaugie Trail in Superior just off E. 2nd Street near the entrance to Barker’s Island.

To celebrate our 20th year of this event, we are having a participant drawing of a romantic package--one night’s stay at Barker’s Island Inn, dinner cruise for two on Vista Fleet, and a Top Hat horse-drawn carriage ride in Canal Park!

Early registration is recommended, but registration that day begins at 8 a.m. and the walk/run begins at 9 a.m. The annual raffle drawing will follow. Individual registration is $30 until August 20 and then $40. Family (parents and minor children) $75 until August 20 then $95. Includes a t-shirt for each registrant and bandana for your dog(s). Prizes will be awarded to the individual adult and youth collecting the most pledges. Each participant collecting $50 or more in pledges (in addition to the registration fee) receives a sweatshirt, too!

Dogs must have current proof of rabies vaccination (RABIES CERTIFICATE) at the time of registration.
